Design Features of Scissor Car Lifts
The scissor car lifts consist of the following components:
- A platform, to arrange cars. It can be metal or rubber coated. The platform can be additionally fitted with guardrails and sheds. To ensure safe operation of the lift, the platform is provided with signal lights indicating the wrong position of a car. In this case, transducers operate, and movement of the lift is interlocked.
- Scissor legs, to move the platform. Each pair of the legs (external and internal) is linked.
- Hydraulic cylinders, to transform hydraulic energy of oil flow into mechanical energy. They power up scissor legs. As a rule, several hydraulic cylinders are used in car lifts.
- A hydraulic power pack, to ensure operational performance of the lift. It consists of an oil tank, a pump supplying oil into hydraulic cylinders, and an electric motor to drive the pump.
- A base frame, to fix the car lift at the site.
- Detectors, located under the platform. They disable the lift if there is an obstacle under the lowering platform.
- A control panel, to control electric motor of the lift and movement of the platform. The control panel can be wired or wireless. The lift can also be controlled by a phone application.
